Sponsors Urgently Needed

SPONSORS URGENTLY NEEDED FOR THE ROUTINE SHELTER COSTS OF 32 DOGS AT THE CDWK CENTRE

At CDWK, we believe that every dog’s life matters….. therefore, we aim to provide the best medical and routine support possible to all the dogs in our care- both those dogs in the centre and those requiring assistance from the community.

Currently, we have 96 dogs (81 adults and 15 pups) in residence at the CDWK centre – 84 of these are permanent residents, while the remaining 12 are waiting to be sent overseas for adoption or will return to the community when they are well enough.

Of these 84 permanent residents, only 52 dogs are presently sponsored by kind individuals who pay $20USD per month to cover daily feeding and shelter costs, plus routine vaccinations, deworming and deticking.

Therefore, we URGENTLY REQUIRE SPONSORSfor the additional 32 dogs – this will assist CDWK to continue providing our current high level of care to all dogs in our centre – dogs who have already suffered injuries, illness, abuse or neglect. Of the dogs requiring sponsorship:

  • 14 are adult dogs, such as:
    • Tenzing– who was abandoned in March 2017 with a venereal tumour the size of a football on his genitals. After many rounds of chemotherapy and surgery, he recovered fully. Tenzing is an amenable dog- big, healthy, gentle, energetic and lovable.
    • Lekshey – was a pup dumped in a nearby field. He is now about 3 years old. Lekshey is a playful, active boy, quite regal, who is very friendly and loves people.
    • Jangye – is a lovely, trusting, gentle dog from near the CDWK centre. Recently, someone had deliberately tried to cut off his penis, and left him in an emaciated state to die on the street. Dr Sushil operated on him, and remarkably he has survived. The systemic infection is under control, and he is recovering slowly in the centre.
  • 5 are dogs older than 8 years, who will likely see out the rest of their lives within the CDWK centre, such as:
    • Rikki – a miracle dog found as a pup in a crowded market, stumbling, hairless and malnourished. He also had tetanus, which as it progressed left his little body totally rigid. But brave Rikki survived and made a full recovery. He is a gentle, affectionate and courageous dog.
    • Goldie – was a pathetic sight when she arrived- her hairless grey skin was dry and scaly, and the only hair on her body was a golden ruff. With proper care and nutrition, she recovered her fur and condition. She was returned to the community only to relapse twice in the next few years. So now she resides in the centre where she can be cared for properly. Goldie is sweet and lovable.
  • 13 are pups under 12 months, such as:
    • Orion, Onyx and Orizon – siblings dumped at CDWK centre in July 2019 when they were about 2 months old.
