Santo

Santo (also called Hope) was found by a group of western students studying at Kopan Monastery in December 2018. He had been abandoned in the jungle and left to die, unable to walk or do anything. The students carried him 2km back to the monastery gate on a sack. Kate was called and immediately took him to the clinic. An x-ray revealed that Santo had spinal deformations (spurs and fused vertebrae), which put a lot of pressure on the nerves. Miraculously, after a week on medication, he was able to walk again. Santo is very old but he is comfortable just lying around the kitchen. He is biding his time, and will live out his life in the shelter. He is a gentle, amenable and accepting dog as if he understands why he is at the centre. Santo is sponsored by Adriana.
