First of all, an enormous thank you to Juliana and Mark of Boho Beautiful for their wonderful video about Starbuck and their link with Community Dog Welfare Kopan. This video created a tremendous response in donations to the CDWK Medical Contingency Fund through our GoFundMe campaign, and we are well beyond our original target. However, our Fund has proved critical to our rescue activities, including treatment of CTVT dogs, a Parvo outbreak and rescues of accident victims and skin problems, and by the end of May we have already used more than AU$4,000, or over half the target amount. And we have many puppies dropped on us this year who will all need neutering shortly.
We are proposing to increase our target to AU$16,000, which should cover our needs for 2019 and 2020.

Sadly, the distemper virus is almost always a killer and it is a painful death. In most cases, it is best for the dog and for the nearby dog population, for a dog to be put down.
